We got Springer, our Havanese puppy, about 4 years ago. As a single parent of two daughters, I initially got him because my daughters were preteens and beginning to come home to an empty house for a couple of hours. They were hesitant to be home alone so the dog became company for them. It was a great decision on our part.HPIM1366.JPG.jpg

But, in the last couple of years, his behaviour has become increasingly needy and annoying. He also suffered from severe seperation anxiety. Furthermore, he licked us constantly, wouldn't eat at his bowl (carried food all over the house), demanded attention constantly and jumped up on our furniture. Once he started peeing on my guests, I had had enough!!!!!

I met Twilla through a business acquantiance and immediately was attracted to her comforting manner and knowledge of dogs.  I asked Twilla for her help.

We went through Twilla's program and the results are simply amazing!  Twilla taught us methods that led to the establishment of proper pack roles in the house, creating a natural canine environment for our dog.  The results speak for themselves!  Our dog actually acts like a dog.  He no longer jumps on furniture, annoys our guests or behaves destructively.

The absolute best thing is that a small sound from me is all it takes to quickly redirect his behaviour.  The Pack Rules' leadership program and all our hard wark has made Springer a much nicer dog to have in our house.

Twilla was amazing during her first visit to our house.  She was an endless resource of useful information and explained the whole program in a way that was simple and easy to understand.  I do have to say that, initially, I was very overwhelmed with the information and the changes that were necessary regarding my way of thinking about dogs.  My teenage daughters felt the same. But Twilla helped us adapt her program to our schedule, was patient and followed up constantly to make sure we were ok.  Even after the program, she continues to offer support and answer our questions.

In the end, it was well worth every penny spent.  My dog went from an annoying little mutt to a family member that everyone likes and enjoys spending time with.  He learned a few games and tricks along the way and is much much much more well behaved and happy!

Springer's girls went out to purchase a backpack for his Wed session. It is quite flashy, sporting colors of bright blue with pink, yellow and white stripes. It is also very serviceable as it has zippered pouches where he can carry house keys and potty bags. It is much too cold to walk outside, so a 15 minute trek on the treadmill twice daily is in order. Isn't he handsome?
